Hi! I’m Dr. Ebony Helaire, owner of Signature Smiles Dentistry

It’s so nice to meet you!

Antioch is home. It’s where I grew up, and now it’s where I get to give back. The people who walk through my doors aren’t just patients; they’re neighbors, families, and friends.

Why Did I Become a Dentist?

Because of braces… and a big smile transformation.

I wasn’t always confident in my smile. I had noticeable gaps growing up, and when I finally got braces in middle school, it changed everything. That experience gave me confidence and showed me how powerful a smile can be—not just for how you look, but how you feel about yourself.

That’s when I knew I wanted to help others feel that same confidence one day. And now, I get to do exactly that every single day.

My Approach to Dentistry

To me, dentistry is about more than teeth. It’s about trust, comfort, and connection.

I believe in building real relationships with my patients. I take time to listen, answer questions, and make sure you feel informed and in control of your care. With our office, you’ll never feel rushed and never judged.

I care about people first and dentistry comes second. Helping someone feel comfortable, confident, and genuinely cared for is what keeps me inspired every day.

• Bachelor of Arts, Biology – Sonoma State University
• Doctor of Dental Surgery – UCSF School of Dentistry
• Advanced Education in General Dentistry (1-year residency) – UCSF / NYU Langone Health

I’m a lifelong learner and love staying up to date. Dentistry is always evolving, and my patients deserve a dentist who evolves with it. I’m part of the Spear Education Study Club, where I continue training in advanced techniques and treatment planning. My goal is to deliver care that’s not only high-quality but also thoughtful, conservative, and long-lasting.

Outside the Office

My biggest support comes from my husband. He’s caring, encouraging, and by my side every step of the way. We love traveling, catching a good comedy show, and creating new memories together.

Outside of work, I’m all about the simple joys:

• I don’t function without coffee—it’s my daily must-have and the best part of my morning.
• Music brings good energy into everything. It keeps me focused, happy, and moving.
• I love amusement parks. The energy and excitement always bring out my inner kid.

In the Community

In 2018, I traveled to Jamaica for a dental mission trip, providing care to patients with limited access to dentistry. That experience deepened my passion for giving back and reminded me how meaningful it is to use my skills to serve others.

Today, I continue serving diverse communities closer to home through La Clínica Dental Clinic in Vallejo, providing care to underserved patients. I believe everyone deserves access to quality dental care, both locally and abroad. That mission will always be part of who I am.
